Empower the Innovative Development of Sci-tech Finance by Cultivating International Financial Professionals--“China International Finance Professionals Development Forum” Successfully Held in Beijing

On July 22, “China International Finance Professionals Development Forum” cosponsored by China International Talent Exchange Foundation (CITEF) and Global Institute of Financial Professionals (GIFP) was successfully held in Beijing. Deputy Director (principal) Wan Jinfa of CITEF and President George R. Lovas Jr. of GIFP addressed the Forum, and experts from Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development, Bank of China, and University of International Business and Economics made keynote speeches on the development of international financial professionals. Over 30 representatives from government bodies, banking enterprises, colleges and universities, and training institutions were invited to the Forum. The Forum was thrown open to the public via webcast platforms and had a viewing audience of over 657,000 when it ended.

As an important event of “The 20th Conference on International Exchange of Professionals”, the Forum, themed at “Empower the Innovative Development of Sci-tech Finance by Cultivating International Financial Professionals”, is aimed to, at the moment CFRM certification is introduced into China, fully mobilize resources and advantages that integrate government, industries, universities, and markets, better utilize world-leading knowledge systems, build consensus and join forces to explore new ideas and paths of cultivating international financial professionals and developing sci-tech finance in an innovative way.

Wan Jinfa introduced the progress made by CITEF in the cultivation of international professionals and the importance of introducing CFRM certification. He said that CITEF as a public institution directly under the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China had always considered the “Four-Facing” (facing the world's science and technology frontier, facing the main economic battlefield, facing the major needs of the country, and facing Chinese people's life and health) as the main direction of cultivating international professionals, constantly striving to introduce international advanced knowledge system, and conduct and fund the cultivation and exchange of international professionals. The promotion of innovative and integrative development of economy, science and technology, and finance calls for a great many international financial professionals that have not only outstanding global vision and professional quality, but also a profound understanding of the global industry order and rules. The introduction of CFRM certification has provided a new path for the cultivation and development of international high-level financial professionals in China.

President George R. Lovas Jr. of GIFP addressed the Forum on video. He pointed out that GIFP has established comprehensive, strict, and advanced evaluation standards for the expertise and practical skills of financial risk management practitioners, and that they will do their best to help global and Chinese financial practitioners make their business plans and improve their risk-resistance capacity to adapt to the changing internal and external environment.

Vice President Guo Rong of Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development shared his insights on the “sci-tech + finance” trend and the cultivation mode of versatile talents that excel in both sci-tech and finance. Tang Zhongyin, the financial technology innovation expert of Bank of China, analyzed the future technical change opportunities of financial industry and the features of talent demand of sci-tech finance. Liu Lixin, dean of School of Statistics, University of International Business and Economics, discussed the high-quality cultivation of financial risk management talents in the new era. 

Guo Jun, the Chinese special representative of GIFP, introduced the CFRM certification program. It was declared on the Forum that 9 units including Central University of Finance And Economics, BOC Financial (Suzhou) Technology Co., Ltd., and Training Center of Beijing Tourism Group became the first batch of CFRM certification partners, who will jointly carry out market development, personnel training, and talent cultivation. On the site, guests and institution representatives opened the scroll that symbolized the launch of CFRM certification program, indicating that CFRM certification will inject new vigor and open a new chapter for China’s cultivation of international financial professionals. 

Through this Forum, professionals from sci-tech, financial, and management fields have reached better consensus on jointly developing international talents and innovating in sci-tech finance, contributing their wisdom to building talent centers and innovation hubs of global importance.
